Got some shots today, my 6th in case you are counting, for my trip to Africa. Hep A+B combo, 2nd of 4 shots that are required. No big deal I know, it was really what happened after that made it great. They had brand new copies of Highlights magazine. Ya, those. The ones you used to read when you were in elementary school or at the doctor’s office. Except for the fact that these didn’t have the answers filled in or the maze solved already for you. They told us we could have them and let me tell ya, we were excited. It will not be looked at until I get on the plane headed for Kenya. Unfortunately, they only offer about 3 and a half minutes of entertainment, but what a great 3.5 minutes it shall be.

In 1997, Kleberg County Commissioners unanimously voted to adopt “heaven-o” as the official greeting of the county instead of “hello“.[3] Kleberg County residents are now encouraged to use “heaven-o” to acknowledge one another. The reason cited for the change was the fact that hello contains the word hell.

So it turns out that I might have sleep apnea, I have a lot of the symptoms, but I just don’t know for sure. Therefor, I’m going in tonight for a sleep study.

7:02pm - It’s just past seven and I’m about to walk into the building…

7:25pm - I’m greeted by matt, he looks like the offspring of a bucaneer and a hipee. My room is nice, like most hotels I’ve been to only this one is equipped with a webcam and night vision.
8:06pm - I’ve had about 20 wires attached all over, including the top of my head. If I want to move around I have to carry my monitoring device.
Not gonna lie, feeling a little claustraphobic from the confinement of all these wires. And I have to try and me asleep by ten. Boo.
4:44am - Finally finished, in the end not that bad, still wouldn’t wish this on anyone. Results in 3 days.
    5:05am - back at home
5:25am- it took about 15 minutes to finally get all the glue out of my hair and all of the probes off my body. Now for some sleep, well more sleep.

Below are the photos of the room and the device they plug all your wires into which wirelessly gets sent to the computer bay outside that is monitoring you.
    The end.

I’ve done one of these before. They’re dreadful. I’ll pray for you right now.

Well, I finally ran in the Long Beach Marathon last Sunday. It was intense to say the least, but totally worth it and a great life experience. (More …)
